As isolated as it seems, the Lookout House is located on a three-million-year-old volcano. Inspired by modern design, the site's structure found among ancient heritage. Faulkner Architects built the Lookout surrounded by manzanita and a forest of pine and white fir trees. Construct by the local sand, and the walls made out of 20-inch-thick concrete and black steel to keep the design aesthetic. Moreover, the interior ceiling is covered with wood ceilings and a California walnut screen, giving a more warm feeling inside. The living spaces light design, adding additional warmness with the outside forest that keeps the home engaged with the neighboring scenery.
